Yesterday morning the mountains near Cooke City and West Yellowstone got 1-2” of snow, and elsewhere got none over the last 24 hours. This morning, temperatures are teens to 20s F, and wind is out of the southwest at 15-35 mph with gusts of 35-80 mph. Today, temperatures will reach high 20s to low 30s F, and wind will be southwest at 15-30 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Snow will begin this morning near West Yellowstone and later elsewhere. By tomorrow morning the mountains could have 3-5” of new snow.

The mountains near Cooke City and West Yellowstone have 3-4” of new snow, and elsewhere did not receive any. Temperatures are singles to teens F and wind is west-southwest at 20-30 mph with gusts of 45-60 mph. Today will be partly sunny with temperatures rising to mid-20s and low 30s F, and strong southwest wind will continue. The next chance for snow is tomorrow morning.

The southern mountains, Lionhead and Cooke City picked up 2-3” of snow in the last 24 hours. Mountain temperatures are near zero F this morning and wind is blowing from the SW to SE at 10-20 mph with gusts of 35 mph. Today will be mostly sunny in the north and mostly cloudy in the south as temperatures warm into the teens and SW wind increases to 15-25 mph with 40+ mph gusts. By morning the southern mountains will have a trace to 1” of new snow.

There is no new snow to report. The Bridger ridge is the coldest (-28F) and windiest (30-45 mph E). All other stations are showing wind from the SW at 10-20 mph with temperatures of -10 to -20F. Skies will be partly cloudy in the north and mostly cloudy in the south as wind remains light to moderate out of the SW, switching this afternoon in the Bridgers. The arctic grip will loosen and temperatures should hit zero F. By tomorrow morning Lionhead and Cooke City will have 1-2” of snow and a trace to 1” elsewhere.

Snowfall ended yesterday afternoon and dropped 5-7” in the mountains around Bozeman and Big Sky and 3”in the south, including Cooke City. The wind shifted from west to east-northeast with the cold front’s arrival. It is currently blowing 5-15 mph with gusts of 25 mph, except in the Bridger Range where it is averaging 48 mph with gusts of 70 mph on the ridge. Temperatures this morning are -10 to -16 F with Lionhead being a tropical -1 F. The wind chill on the Bridger Ridge is -58 F; I’m not sure how you dress for that! Flurries today and tonight add up to 1-2” of snow as cold temperatures and east wind continues.

In the last 24 hours, Cooke City received 17” of snow, with 6” in the Bridger Range and 2-4 everywhere else. Temperatures are in the 20s to low 30s F, and winds are blowing 25-35 mph gusting to 55 mph from the west to the southwest. Falling temperatures throughout the day will have us in the negatives F by tonight. Strong winds blowing 30-35 mph from the west to the southwest will diminish this afternoon and shift to the north. Snow continues with 15-20” in Cooke City by tomorrow morning and 4-8” everywhere else.

In the last 24 hours, the Bridger Range and Cooke City received 12” of new snow, with 7-9” in Big Sky and Hyalite Canyon, and 4-5” near West Yellowstone and in the Southern Madison and Southern Gallatin Ranges. Temperatures are in the teens to 20s F with 15-30 mph winds from the west to northwest. Snow will continue today with 4-7” in the mountains around Bozeman and Big Sky, 10” near West Yellowstone, and 20” near Cooke City possible by morning. Temperatures will be in the 20s to 30s F with 20-30 mph winds from the west to southwest.

Yesterday and last night the Bridger Range received 20” of snow, Hyalite and Big Sky got 5-10”, and 1-2” fell near Cooke City and West Yellowstone. Wind shifted from the southwest to west-northwest at 5-20 mph with gusts of 25-40 mph. This morning temperatures are single digits to teens F, and today will reach teens to mid-20s F. Wind will be out of the west-northwest, and will increase to 15-30 mph with gusts to 45 mph. Light snow through today will deliver 1-3” by this evening. Tonight an additional 3-5” are likely with up to a foot possible near Cooke City by morning, and heavy snow will continue through tomorrow and Tuesday.

This morning there is no new snow. Temperatures are single digits to teens F. Wind is southwest-west at 10-25 mph with gusts of 30-45 mph. Today temperatures will reach 20s F with westerly wind at 15-30 mph. Snow showers are expected to deliver 2-5” by this evening, and by tomorrow morning a total of 8-15” are possible in the Bridger Range and Hyalite with 4-8” elsewhere. More heavy snowfall is possible through at least the first half of the week.

There is no new snow this morning. Winds are west and southwesterly at 15-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph (45 mph in Hyalite). Temperatures early this morning are in the teens F around Bozeman and Big Sky and single digits F around Cooke City and West Yellowstone. Temperatures will rise into the teens to high 20s F. Winds today will be 20-30 mph out of the southwest and west. Chances for snowfall return tomorrow.
