This morning under clear skies, mountain temperatures are in the single digits with west to southwest winds averaging 10-15 mph. There’s no new snow to report. Today will be mostly sunny with temperatures warming into the upper teens and light southwest winds. This evening a Pacific low pressure system will bring cloudy skies and a chance of snow tomorrow.
Since yesterday morning the mountains around Bozeman, Big Sky and Cooke City picked up 5-7 inches of new snow. The mountains around West Yellowstone picked up 3-5 inches. Currently, temperatures are in the single digits above or below zero F and winds are blowing 10-20 mph out of the WNW. Today, light snow showers will linger in the mountains but no further accumulation is expected. Skies will gradually clear by this afternoon as a weak ridge of high pressure begins to build. Temperatures will warm into the high teens to low twenties F and winds will gradually shift to the west blowing 10-20 mph. High pressure will dominate the weather pattern on Tuesday making for a warm and sunny day.
Overnight 1-2 inches of snow fell in the mountains around West Yellowstone and Cooke City. This morning temperatures are ranging from the mid-20s to low 30s F and winds are blowing 15-25 out of the WSW with gusts reaching 40 mph around Big Sky and Hyalite. Today, conditions will change drastically as a cold front moves over the area. The front will arrive mid-morning delivering gusty winds and a brief shot of snow. Winds will shift to the WNW after the frontal passage and temperatures will drop throughout the day. By tomorrow morning, 3-5 inches of snow will likely accumulate in the mountains around Bozeman, Big Sky and West Yellowstone. The mountains around Cook City will pick up 6-8 inches.
Yesterday about an inch of snow fell near Cooke City and West Yellowstone. This morning temperatures were in the high 20s F with winds blowing 15 mph from the W and gusting to 20 mph. Yesterday in the mountains near Bozeman, winds were blowing 20-40 mph. Today will be a mix of clouds and sun. High temperatures will be in the 30s F and may reach the 40s in places. Winds will increase slightly and shift to the SW bringing snow tonight. By Sunday morning several inches will have fallen with more to come throughout the day.
Since yesterday the Madison Range received 4-6 inches of low density snow. All other areas received 1-2 inches. This morning temperatures were in the low 20s F. Ridgetop winds in most areas were blowing westerly 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph; however, in the Bridger Range and Hyalite Canyon winds were averaging 25 mph and gusting 30-40 mph from the W. Today will start mostly cloudy and dry as the day progresses with a brief ridge of high pressure building for Saturday. Temperatures should rise to the low 30s F and winds shouldn’t change much. More snow will come Sunday.
This morning clouds were moving over the area with temperatures in the low teens F and winds averaging 10-15 mph from the W with gusts of 20-30 mph. A little snow may fall this morning followed by a better chance tonight. High temperatures will reach the low to mid 20s F and winds will continue from the W at 10-15 mph gusting to 25 mph. By tomorrow morning the mountains near Bozeman and Big Sky should get 2-3 inches of snow while areas further south will receive about an inch.
Under partly cloudy skies there’s no new snow to report. Yesterday, temperatures reached the 20s as winds calmed throughout the day. This morning, mountain temperatures are in the single digits with light ridgetop winds out of the west to southwest (15-20 mph). Skies will remain partly cloudy with light winds and temperatures warming into the low 20s. Tonight will become mostly cloudy, but offer no real chance of snow.
Last night snow showers dropped 4-5 inches in the Bridger Range and the Yellowstone Club while all other areas got 1-2 inches. Winds switched from southerly to westerly late yesterday with the arrival of a cold front. Currently ridgetop winds are averaging 15-20 mph out of the west with gusts of 30. The Bridger Range is windier with averages of 25-30 mph and gusts near 40. Mountain temperatures have dropped into the single digits and will rise into the upper teens by this afternoon. A few scattered showers this morning will give way to clearing skies as high pressure builds tonight.
No new snow has fallen over the past 24 hours. Currently, temperatures are in the single digits to low teens F and winds are light out of the WSW blowing 5-20 mph. Today, clouds and wind will increase as a cold front approaches from the west. Before the front arrives temperatures will warm into the twenties under partly to mostly cloudy skies. The cold front will arrive sometime after noon delivering a brief shot of snow and gusty winds. Light snow showers will develop behind the front with 3-5 inches possible by later tonight. After the frontal passage, winds will shift to the NW blowing 10-20 mph.
Yesterday, the Bridger Range picked up 8 inches of new snow. The northern Gallatin Range and mountains near Big Sky picked up 5-6 inches and the mountains near West Yellowstone and Cooke City picked up 3-5 inches. Currently, temperatures are in the single digits and winds are blowing 5-20 mph out the WNW. Today, our region will remain under a dry northwest flow which will keep temperatures on the cool side. Highs today will warm into the upper teens to low twenties F under partly cloudy skies and winds will stay light to moderate out of the WNW. No new snow is expected today or tonight.
